OpsAPI Demo Sign-In

OpsAPI · single sign-on demo

One sign-in for every app, run on our own cluster

The five demo apps, in Java, PHP, Python, Rust and Go, never see a password and never talk to Google. They send the user to OpsAPI, which signs them in with Google (or email and a two-factor code), adds new users to the demo workspace, and hands back a token that the app checks with a single API call. Connecting another app takes a login redirect and one small callback page, not a new identity system.

Four things to remember

  • The app never verifies the token itself. It asks OpsAPI with GET /auth/me; the signing key never leaves OpsAPI.
  • A nonce ties the callback to the login that started it. A callback without the matching value gets a 400.
  • You can look around without an account. opsapi.org/demo publishes a read-only login in its own workspace of fictional sample users. It can open every page but change nothing, and it is reset within 30 minutes if someone alters it.
  • Admin dashboards belong behind a VPN or ZTNA broker in production. The public demo's dashboard is open on purpose so people can try it, and it is still protected by sign-in, emailed codes for admins, and roles; the published login is read-only.

OpsAPI is not a SAML identity provider and not an OpenID Connect server. Apps use its own short redirect contract.
